Ro’s Story
Ro
Ro was a fearful - dog and human reactive pup back in December of 2023. Muzzled and kept on a tight leash; his owners decided it was time for some changes.
“Ro is a 4 year old pit mix who we rescued at about 2 years of age. We don’t know his history, but after a few weeks of having him home, it became apparent he had trauma. He was extremely reactive to everything and anyone. He wanted to fight any dog he saw, not matter how far away. He hated bikes and skateboards and any person that came anywhere near me. It was awful and scary. We tried multiple different trainers and techniques- some helped a little but not enough to make a difference in our day to day life. We got to the point of thinking we had to put him down, but I’m so glad we gave him another chance. Emily has changed our lives and Ro is now a new dog. She has been so dedicated to working with him (and us). She’s able to come take him on walks and even dog sit for an entire week. He says hi to other dogs and lets people approach and talk to me on walks now. He never reacts to bikes anymore- her work has truly changed him. He’s still an anxious boy and we’re still working on not reacting to certain things (like the mailman), but we now have the tools and information we need to help him with those issues. We saw a difference within the first week and it hasn’t even been a year and he’s a different dog. I am so impressed with the progress Ro has made in such a short time. I know we still have work to do, but I also know we have Emily to support us and guide us through whatever may come up. Thank you for saving our boy Emily! ”
